Zero. We are an information-only marketplace — not a freight broker, carrier, or dispatcher. We charge subscription fees for access to listing information, not transaction fees. Under 49 U.S.C. § 13102, no FMCSA broker authority is required. This platform needs zero federal, state, or local licenses to operate.
Can any carrier list on the carrier directory?
Any carrier with a Basic subscription or higher can list their information in the carrier directory. Listings are informational only — TurnersLoadBoard is not responsible for verifying carrier credentials, authority, insurance, or safety ratings. Shippers must independently verify all carrier information before tendering freight.
What does the background check cover?
Our screening reviews account history, route/rate plausibility, duplicate scam patterns, and contact validity. It is a good-faith effort to reduce scam loads. It does not guarantee legitimacy. All users accepted full responsibility upon entry.
Is TurnersLoadBoard responsible for freight payments?
Absolutely not. We do not handle, process, guarantee, or have any involvement in freight payments. All payment matters are exclusively between the shipper and carrier.
How does billing work?

1. Nature of Service — Information Only / Zero Licenses
TurnersLoadBoard Loadboard is an information-only listing marketplace operating with ZERO licenses. We are NOT a freight broker, forwarder, carrier, or dispatcher. We hold no FMCSA authority, MC broker number, or DOT number. We do not arrange, negotiate, coordinate, or facilitate transportation of freight in any capacity.
The Platform publishes load listings and carrier directory listings submitted by third parties for informational purposes only. Any freight transaction is entered into exclusively between the shipper and carrier. TurnersLoadBoard is not a party to any such transaction.
2. Carrier Directory
Carriers may submit informational listings to the carrier directory. These listings are self-reported and not verified by TurnersLoadBoard. We do not verify MC authority, DOT number, insurance, safety ratings, or any other credentials. Shippers are solely responsible for verifying all carrier information independently before entering any freight agreement. Carrier listings are informational only — TurnersLoadBoard is not arranging freight on behalf of any carrier.
3. Mandatory Consent Upon Entry
All users must complete the entry consent process. By entering the platform you have entered a binding legal agreement acknowledging: (a) information-only platform; (b) zero liability for scam loads; (c) zero freight payment responsibility; (d) waiver of all liability claims.
4. No Freight Payment Responsibility
TurnersLoadBoard does not handle, hold, process, guarantee, or have any involvement in freight payments, accessorial charges, or any compensation related to freight transactions. All payment obligations are exclusively between the shipper and carrier.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
Billed monthly, renew automatically until cancelled.
